How many of you just let your chickens "Go Wild"???

Let them ALL free-range together and let them produce as they will...with no concern about BREED/BLOODLINES?

Say I was to do this with all brown-egglayers....RIR, Production Reds, Welsummers, Barred-Rocks, etc....
would this multi-breed hen/rooster flock continue to produce BROWN EGGS or at least a very high-percentage?

If I let my birds run wild, I wouldn't have any birds after the first 24 hours. But the coyotes would vote me Best Neighbor of the Year.

Anyone???

In regards to letting them breed freely as a flock???

I mean not keeping them separated as breeds all the time,,,but to be able to cross-breed at will???

I do, I have a GLW Roo, he is Daddy to at least 4 of my new chicks.

My hens are BO, BR, EE & Light Brahmas

Here are the chicks...

I do wonder about the second set of chicks. We had a Bantam Roo for a month & he overpowered my GLW Roo as Head Roo. Because the chicks from the second hatch all have feathered feet.

Possible Baby Daddy of the last 4, I just hope they do not have his personality. That is why he has a new home.

Mine all run together...I love the look of a mixed flock :) I did incubate and hatch 15 babies in December...here are two of the kids...

D'uccle X silkie, Goldie

Whitey....oegb x d'uccle
