My 1st internet-ordered chicks arrived! *Edited to add PICS*

Safe & Sound... and tiny as ever! 3 silkies & 3 dominiques from Meyer. I could hear them chirping when I was standing in line at the Post Office! LOL

They are so much tinier than the chicks I've bought from the feed store or TSC. They all began eating & drinking immediately. I am so pleased that my first mailed chicks are doing well. I was nervous about opening the box and finding one of them to be dead. I will post photos in the morning. They are cute little ones.

I ordered my chicks on the Internet from Cackle, my sister laughed at me she says I by on the Internet so I don't have to leave the house....LOL
They all arrived safe and sound and I did leave the house to go to the post office :-D

I got an order of 17 from cackle and didn't even need to leave the house as po made a special delivery. I got 6 white silkies. No casualties and it has been 6 days.

How much are you guys getting charged for shipping? I did a "mock" order on Meyer <10 birds and it said $80 for shipping. That's crazy!! The only online hatchery I've found with a decent shipping price is Ideal (also no minimums), but looks like they dont have very good availability.

My shipping from Cackle was less than $20 but Cackle is in Missouri and I am in Oklahoma so it wasn't that far. When I ordered they had great availability, not sure about now though.

I have a Meyer Hatchery catalog and according to their shipping chart, the price to send to FL is:
3-14 chicks: $42.59
15-24 chicks: $19.43
25-26 chicks: $14.21
27-51 chicks: $21.31
