I am about finished with my 1st lean in loft that will house a pair of Capuchines. The loft is 4' wide, 3' deep and 4' tall, with stub perches on one end and the nesting boxes on the other end. There is a 4' wide x 30" x 30" sunporch on the back.

My question about using water cups for them to drink from- will they utilize one? Theses are the type that has a plunger in it so when they put their beak in, it allows more water in the cup. I plan on locating it and a PVC gravity feeder underneath where the nesting box is thinking that there would not be perches above the food and water so it would stay cleaner.

Thoughts?

pigeons will perch on any flat area they can, even the smallest of areas, just make sure there some kind of slope directing there droppings out an away from food or water or box in the area above to eliminate them to have access.. other than that sound like a great set up. feel free to share photos...my grandfather has been raising pigeons for over 50 yrs. great passion
