My 2025 Easter Blue Egg Hatch-A-Long

I have set another batch of Crested Cream Legbar eggs trying for an Easter Sunday Hatch. I will add a few more eggs tomorrow when I gather eggs. Probably 5-6 that will be a total of 35-36 eggs total. After a week I will candle and then number for anyone who would like to name an egg. I think this is the best way for me to do this as the percentage of a live hatch is much better for named eggs this way.

Has anyone else set eggs for an Easter hatch this year? I thought we had a BYC sponsored hatch-a-long last year?

Yes. I'm in the big thread now. I'll keep this one for those that want to name a chick here. Thank You for calling this to my attention. I like these events.

I gathered enough Cream Legbar eggs today along with 1 White Giant egg to finish filling the incubator up. It now has 40 Cream Legbar eggs and that one White Giant white giant egg. I'll candle on the 10th of April and remove non viable eggs then along with numbering the remaining and hope they all make it to lockdown.

I've candled these eggs and had to remove the one white giant egg and 3 or 4 of the CCL eggs. Anyway I can get them numbered now and then candle again at lockdown on the 17th.

Yes!! I have eleven Cream legbar eggs and ten Speckled Sussex eggs in my incubator with hatch date of Saturday (possibly Sunday morning). Didn’t plan on it being an Easter hatch, but the SS eggs were a little delayed in shipping.
So for both of our hatches.
