So my first incubating experience was with an LG and I would say it was an ok hatch, could of been better. Out of 18 eggs that made it to lockdown I got 8 chicks.
My 2nd incubation was with the Brinsea, out of 14 chicken eggs 10 made it to lockdown. First 7 hatch with no problems all on their own. I helped chick 8 and 9 out of the shell as they were zipped for about 18 hours. They are currently still in the incubator drying off and resting. I think I made the right decision on helping them out as the membrane was dry on both of them although my humidity was perfect. Seems that they were just stuck from being dry. The last egg is pipped and I can see it's beak in and out of the shell. If this one hatches, even if I have to help it out I will consider this a 100% hatch. Not to shabby for a newbie hatcher.
I did move my eggs from the Brinsea into my LG for lockdown as I have 5 duck eggs still in my Brinsea. They are due to hatch next week and I will let them hatch in the Brinsea.
BTW, these were all shipped eggs.
