Hello fellow Chicken Parents,
I am new to Back Yard Chickens, and I am in need of some support. My handsome White Rock Rooster( Chatty ), that I have raised since he was a baby, has been attacking me for the last 8 months. He is 3 years old, and has been hand raised with his 3 other wifeys. He has been an awesome husband to the hens, but for some reason he has aggressively gone after me unprovoked. He is so bad that I am unable to even approach the run( which is 400 square feet) and there is more then enough room to steer clear. I have two gates on the run, but he sees me coming and starts at from one gate to the other( and I am still on the outside of the fence). My husband has said that it is time for him go, and I have to admit I agree. We have done everything that is recommended in dealing with aggressive roosters, and no matter what, he puts holes and bruises in me. I am beside myself as I love him very much. We have decided to put him down, and I am going to ask my vet if they would be willing to cremate him. We don't own the property we live in, so I don't want to burry him. I know I sound extreme, but, he is apart of my family. It's going to hurt to part with him.
Thank you for listening to me

I think that your decision is the one that has to be made. He is big enough to cause injury, and our flocks should be fun not cause for anxiety.
Glad you joined.
