I have a Serama pullet that is 4 months old today. A couple of days ago I noticed she wasn't standing. So I watched when the others started eating to see what she would do and she made her way to the feed but pretty much scooting her way. One foot/leg stays in position and the other one is pretty much useless. I have to put it under her so she can sit and eat/drink. I isolated her from the others. She eats very good and makes her cute little chicken noises. She doesn't seem to be in any pain. I'm giving her some boiled egg each day along with her crumble and putting Red Cell in her water. She is in with about 10 others her age and they are all doing well. Anyone know what this could be?

Dose she eat in a grater appetite?does she have a paralyzed limb,a leg maybe?
Can you look on here skin and a sea if she have little lumps on it? Can you look in The aye of the chicken and look for irregularities in iris of the aye? Dose the aye seems opaque and not clear? If she have one of this syndromes it almost certain that chickens have Marek's disease, it's incurable!

Could she have injured the leg? Look for swelling, redness, of the joints, and see if her toes will curl when you touch her foot pad. Mareks disease sounds like a good possibility, but injury and many other problems must first be ruled out. Mareks is a disease that is divided into 4 types--a chicken may have 1 or more types, so symptoms can vary in every bird. Be cautious with the Red Cell vitamins, since dosages are for other animals such as horses. I would use a poultry vitamin in the water. Here are some links about Mareks, and the first has a section about diseases that can look like Mareks:

The only signs she is showing is not using her legs. Her toes do curl up on the one side. Her eyes look fine, she eats and drinks very good. poo is normal looking. She's very aler and doesn't seem to be in any pain, but i agree it sounds like Marek's. :(

You might try using a chicken sling for her to get her up off the ground, which makes it easier to keep her clean. I hope it's not Mareks, but just a vitamin deficiency or a possible injury. B complex vitamins may help.
