A week ago, A tragedy happened rats attacked my gosling cage and killed four of them. My goslings live in big cage inside with their mom so their mom can give them warmth at night. I wanna free range them but my place have rats,hawks, monitor lizards and snakes. Goslings is like their favorite delicacy. My Bamboo cage is now surrounded by chicken wires.
I can't do brooders because my place have regular blackouts. So I made a large cage that can fit their mom inside. It is big enough for them to walk around and they even have a kiddie pool.
The predators cannot attack the cage anymore.My goslings are now bigger than adult quails. I will finally have goslings to reach adulthood. I have more success with duck and chickens and I had been failing with geese for 4 years. Yes my Geese are 4 year olds already. They only lay eggs twice a year. I hope to have males because my gander is monogamous. I just harvest the eggs of the other girls because my drake is the one who mates them.
