My 6 month old RIR has been sitting on her clutch for 12 days now and one of our 5 mo. Old buffs just started yesterday morning..... I've read where people will pull their girls out of the coop and move them to a more secluded and safer place away from the rest of the flock. My question is, is this necessary? None of the other girls seem to mess with them..... And should I worry about my girls and their chick's once they hatch and bring them around the rest of the crew? I just want the safest and most comfortable situation possible for mama's and babies once they hatch. :)

I have my broody in a dog crate inside the coop. She still has contact with the flock, but the other girls can't add to her clutch and bother her. My nest boxes are about a foot and a half off the floor, and I wanted to make sure the chicks were brooded in a place they can easily get in and out of.
