I left my 5 year old unsupervised while I took a shower (horrible idea btw) and when I got out I went to check on him and one of the eggs was on the floor. The duckling was half pulled out and bloody! It's still breathing and is seemingly alive but it's shrinkwrapped and it's very obvious the yolk sac is still drawing into the abdomen. It's on day 26 and I'm very worried.

2 days shy of hatching . . . I hatch chicks, but I'm no expert.

My instinct would be to put it back in the incubator and use a bit of olive oil on the shrink wrapped membrane to help it stay moist so the duckling can get free of it. As for the yolk you might want to try a small container to keep the ducking from dragging the yolk around and causing an infection or umbilical hernia.

I hope someone else responds that has more experience than I do.
