We have 4 chickens for 3 years now. They are all hens and very sweet chickens. We just got 2 ducks (we ordered hens) and they are now 8/9 weeks and we just moved them outside. they have their own coop but free range with the chickens during the day. The one peking duck is being very mean to the chickens. Chasing them away, not letting them get back into their own coop ect. The Chickens are starting to get stressed and afraid of that duck. What can we do and why is she doing this? Is it possible our 'hen' is actually a drake? How would I know?

Thanks!

Sorry to hear your duck is being a bully! Sometimes chickens and ducks just don't mix well. Being 8 to 9 weeks old they are coming into maturity and becoming hormonal teenagers. You May just need to confine your ducks to a run for a while until they can learn some manners.
You should also be able to tell by that age if you have a male or female by their sound. http://www.majesticwaterfowl.org/artquacks.htm
