This coming Sunday at 2:00 am the clock will spring forward an hour, costing me an hour of sleep and the resultant confusion to my internal clock all in the interest of "saving daylight".
After 70 years I oughta have a lot of daylight saved up. Where is this daylight that I've saved? Is there a 'Daylight Bank of the United States' somewhere? Some days I could use an extra hour or two. Can I make a withdrawal? Has my saved daylight been earning interest? How about 'borrowing daylight'? What happens if I overdraft my daylight account? Am I charged a fee? Is the fee charged in money or daylight? Since the government runs Daylight Savings Time do they pass some of our saved daylight out in the form of foreign aid? Greenland, Iceland, Northern Canada and the northern areas of Siberia strike me as good candidates. Now that I think about it why not send some to Alaska? How about an extra allotment of daylight for those who keep egg laying poultry?
Is there a moonlight savings time? If no, why not? Young lovers would probably appreciate that! What about criminals who commit crimes at night. Should they be fined in moonlight hours?
