My Anole Lizard Tries To Escape its cage... Help!!!

I have a green anole and he jumped out of his tank yesterday. We caught him, but I'm worried he'll do it again. He is super fast and won't let me touch him, so catching him was not easy... The lid on my tank slides lengthwise, so the whole length of the tank opens with the lid, thus allowing him to have a pretty large escape range. How can I stop him from doing this?

You can maybe put netting over the cage...I'm not an expert on anoles so I really don't know what to tell you,sorry.

The cage has a lid, but when I open it he crawls out... Maybe if I put some cardboard or something over the lid... It's okay, thanks for your input though!
