The Easter Eggers

Blue/grey Easter Egger Pullet

Very dignified little chicken. She has her spot on the roost. I suspect she is fairly high, if not highest in the pecking order thus far.

Chipmunk Easter Egger Pullet
The most confident and friendly of the EEs. Always running along side the Leghorn to come see what I might have in my hand. (My favorite Easter Egger)

Yellow Easter Egger Pullet
Somewhat reserved in personality, friendly otherwise. I love how she chooses to stand on top of the feeder when everyone else is gathered around to eat. She has the most beautiful tail feathers of them all right now; big and fluffy. (My husband's Favorite Easter Egger)

Brown Easter Egger Pullet
She's so flighty compared to the other Easter Eggers. Complains the most when being picked up... worse than the Leghorn and Wyandottes in that regard.

The Silver Laced Wyandottes

Silver Laced Wyandotte Pullet
The smallest Wyandotte... she seems to be lagging a little in growth... not sure why... possibly lowest in the pecking order. Very sweet otherwise.

Silver Laced Wyandotte Pullet
Usually right behind the chipmunk EE and the Leghorn to see what I might have. Doesn't care to be handled as much as I'd like her to. Will work on that. I like her smile. (My favorite SLW)

Silver Laced Wyandotte *suspected cockerel*
By the third day home, this one's fuzzy down got to be very white breasted. The "shoulders" were also the lightest. The "tallest" Wyandotte of the three. Gonna hate to lose one of my only three brown egg layers to a frying pan. Hoping for a Pullet.

Danish Brown Leghorn

She's so friendly and curious for a Leghorn and also the most confident and fearless of the flock, just look how she holds her head high. She always comes to greet me when I open the brooder. She flies up to perch on top and lets me handle her with ease. I kind of love interacting with her.

They are cute little ones.As long as they aren't being raised for meat I can't think of any reason not to name them.Only a few of mine have names mainly because they are all the same breed and have been difficult to tell apart. They are starting to develop different shaped combs so maybe they will all have names eventually. Guess that's your call though.

Yeah... I am not raising them for meat, and I think they will have names eventually... maybe I am just waiting to see what they will look like as adults before I start dolling out names. I dunno... So cute though.

Its nice to just watch them and find their names.

Faye and Rose were named on the way home-and they fit just right. But we have one that hatched out here over 2 months ago that still has not found a name.

Screach named himself whenever we tried to hold him and he would scream!!!

You'll find them names if they need them.

If not for meat- why not name them? :D We had originally planned on eating some of our ducks...and then we named it. That idea down the tube. :p So we are getting chickens and will likely name the keepers from the first set, and any ones we choose to select for breeding in the future but avoiding naming the rest. :|

I started out with 25 Partridge Rocks....couldn't tell any of them apart...so we named them all "Chexmix"
