My babies haven’t laid eggs yet

I have 3 hens they are 8 months old and have never given eggs. Two of them at different times were attacked by neighbors dogs and nursed through it and during great. Now of course winter is here. Could the stress and now the cold stop the from laying their first eggs? Here are my girls at beginning of December

Almost sure lol. Their house is small. They aren’t using the brooder nests at all I check the roost area but the bottom of house is hard to check at the moment with snow and a broken arm lol. They have hay and pine shavings in bottom but the roost and nest is where I keep it the warmest.

Low light levels stop them from laying. They will probably lay when there is more light.

Hi there and what cuties!!! Looks like you have a couple of Americana’s...or Easter Egger. I have one that looks very similar to your blond one. Mine are also 8 months old and she is the only one of 5 that is not laying....be patient.....they will come

Thanks. That’s Betty Boop lol. She’s the leader most times. When I first broke my arm and my brother in law was taking care of them and I first went back in run she pecked me like where the hell you been. They are such brats.

What are you feeding them?
I just upped the protein in mine and am hoping they’ll start laying soon since I’m running out of eggs they laid months ago

Mine are almost 9 months old and only 2 out of 5 are laying. Doubt it's the stress. They'll get there when they get there!
