Hey y’all! Long time reader, first time posting!

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is our second time to have chickens.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
8 little baby chicks!

(3) What breeds do you have?
Zazu the Barred Plymouth Rock, Raven the Midnight Majesty Maran, Clover the Olive Egger, Bubblegum the Salmon Faverolle, Honey the Calico Princess, Buttercup the Buff Orpington, James Vanderbeek the White Polish, and Bluebell the Easter Egger!


(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love their little personalities!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, photography, watching the kids play sports

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My husband and I have 4 kids ages 13, 9, 7, and 5! I’m a labor and delivery nurse by trade, but currently am a stay at home mom.
We have 8 chickens, a Golden Retriever, 3 Betta fish, and 2 hamsters.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
In all my research before the chicks my searches kept leading me here.

WELCOME!! We have a daughter that is a labor and delivery nurse, we've owned 3 Golden Retrievers in our lifetime..yes we are old,. And, also have owned many a Betta, have a beautiful big maroon boy on the kitchen counter right now. I think it's time we met in person.

Texas Kiki- I’ve been searching for coop plans, coop ventilation, hawk protection, how to keep out mice, deep litter method, everything! I have been consumed by chickens for the past few months trying to make sure we’re prepared! And I’m still overwhelmed! Our coop is about 25% complete, and then we need the run and landscaping! These babies better grow slow! Lol
