My baby chick started with her eye closed in the chicken coop. First I had thought that a other baby chick may had picked at her. I took her out from with the other baby chicks. She started to get a white clear coat over its eye lid. Now it looks like if she haves something inside her eye. She eats well and is really active. I started to apply Polysporin 3 times a day. Since yesterday and I also gave all my baby chicks Sav-A-chick in their water. She haves one chick with her so she won't fee lonely. What can I do or shouldn't do? What can I give her?

OyVey...not sure what to tell you....not sure about the polysporin in the eye.
Vitamins are good...going to ask to move to 'injuries' forum where someone with more experience should help.
@casportpony ?

How is eye looking today?

Hi @BR-L :frow Welcome To BYC

I'm sorry you're having trouble. How is your chick doing?
Does she still have the white in her eye and the swelling?
Any other symptoms - discharge/mucous from the nostrils, coughing, sneezing, lethargy, etc.?

What course of treatment, if any, have you tried.
To me it looks like she has pus in the eye - if she were mine I would flush it with saline and see if the white glob would come out with a little gentle pressure and working it out with a saline dampened q-tip. After I got all out that I could - I would apply either Vetericyn eye gel or Terramcycin eye ointment (or similar ophthalmic ointment) 2X a day.

Watch the eye for any more pus/discharge and flush, remove and reapply ointment daily.

There are many reasons for having pus/discharge in the eye, a peck or injury, debris/food in the eye and respiratory illness are some of the most common causes.

Keep us posted.
