Im really worried that my American cream chicks are to thin! Thay are really skinny, and you can see their brest bones in their chest. Theyre supposed to be a large fowl breed, but they are tiny! Help!!!

If they hatched 3 hours ago they have 69 hours before they absolutely have to eat. A newly hatched chicken can go 72 hours before eating or drinking. I also don't know how you can see bones through their down either way. Unless they just hatched and aren't fluffed yet in which case of course they look thin... go splash water on a buff orpington. .makes them look skinny to

If your chicks just hatched a few hours ago, they look exactly how they're supposed to look. Have you hatched before? I'm just wondering if you have a frame of reference. A newly hatched chick is sure no object of beauty! They just "ate" an entire egg yolk before they hatched, and they've had a large energy expenditure to be born, so just leave them be. They'll be up and likely eating tomorrow, give them today at least to rest.
