SO since my babys are still little I have them in the house, in a clear tote with bedding. they keep kicking the bedding around an start pecking at the both of the tote, is this normal for them to do that.

! Pleased you joined us! I think it's normal for the chicks to peck and scratch around - nothing to worry about.

My chicks are doing the same. I too have them in a clear plastic container and they peck at it. I think it's normal. Welcome to BYC.
 
I know pecking is normal, but they do it hard. i guess it is normal. thanks.
You are reaching the curiosity stage in your chicks. All chicks go through this some point in their life. (Usually the first week of their life) it's perfectly normal. Nothing to worry about. They're new to their surroundings. Natural raised chicks will do this also. chicks like to peck around to check things out.
