My quail chick recently hatched a few days ago with curled feet, we've been maintaining them to become straight like the other chicks and teaching him how to walk with leg exercises, whilst he trys to walk he falls over to his back a lot, lying down with his belly showing the other quails fall over sometimes by pushing each other but they can get up on their own, however one of our chicks that had his curled feet cannot get up on his own without out assistance. Is there any way we can help him learn to get up from his back?

Have you tried taping its toes into the correct position? If it's going to get better, you will see serious improvement within a day. If it doesn't improve within 24 hours of having its toes taped, it would probably be kindest to cull.

Does he have a touch of wry neck too? I nursed a couple defective quail along for 6 weeks, one wry neck and one homozygous silver with issues, they never grew out of it, got stepped on and bullied, they were half the size of the other birds, the wry neck was always tipping over, both were rather disgusting (poop everywhere!). Should probably have culled the right away but thought I could nurse them through it, if you have the time and interest go for it, but some things just aren’t fixable!
