Hello Nyssa03, I have been fortunate to have a broody duck name Ebony. She now has 2 eggs under her and due to the chook not knowing what to do with this funny looking chicken, I introduced the duckling to my Ebony at 1 1/2 days old.
She is looking after it while nest bound. I make sure the baby is eating and drinking. It climbs all over her and nibbles at her face.
The first time this little munchkin nibbled at her face Ebony picked the baby up and deposited it a few inches away.
They are in an old cocky cage which is on its side. I am going to give it a small run with a small dog crate.
The duckling looks like a bronze and white. I will know better when it feathers up.
I will take the photo today. Ebony has saved me from having to buy a brooder. I wasn't sure just what to do with this little one.
