My Barnevelder's Sleepy Episode

I just wanted to share what happened to my girl Big Bird yesterday in hopes to help anyone one else this may have happened to. Yesterday when I went out to feed my chickens I noticed my chicken named Big Bird acting very sleepy. She really didn't want to eat or walk around, just lay down. The other chickens were concerned also, "a chicken owner can tell". Anyways I brought her into the house and immediately gave her a mixture of diatomaceous earth and water. About a teaspoon and had her drink it with dropper. Then I gave her some olive oil in case she was constipated. Long story short after a day and some prayers, this morning she is doing just fine.

Why the diatomaceous earth? I'm relatively new to chickens, so learning
