my black hen is turning gray

My black chicken..don't know the breed... is turning gray. You can barely see her gray, from the top of her head going down her neck. Anybody know why? thanks

I would not be worried. I would say it is just a change. How old is she?

She's past her prime, according to the original owner. Not sure of her age
