For those of you who have black Copper Marans, are yours noisy? I hatched out eggs in the summer and got two beautiful girls. They have to be the noisiest chickens I've ever owned and I have had chickens for years. They are so noisy that I have them up for sale sadly. The minute I open my back door and walk outside they are screaming at me. They act like two juvenile divas. I have neighbors in close proximity to me and I worry that I will be turned in for a noise. They have refused to accept two additional Marans that I hatched out from a different set of eggs and they have turned my daily time outside into a nightmare.
I did a lot of research on this breed before I bought the eggs and I am perplexed why they just can't be quiet. Of course they are quiet when I'm in the house but as soon as I walk out it's an all out who can be the loudest of the two.. I did not coddle them as chicks so the attachment to humans isn't it. I would love to keep them to find out how colorful their eggs will be as the eggs that I hatched them from were nice but I could end up killing them before they get to the point of it actually laying an egg.
Here they are:

I'll take 'em! They CANNOT be as noisy as my ducks!

I have a 2 1/2 YO Cuckoo Marans who is our lead hen and the noisiest chicken I have by far. Not sure if that counts? She is quieter right now because she is coming out of a hard molt, but most mornings I worry about the neighbors complaining if I'm at all late letting them out lol
