My Boody BO Hatched 7 Babies - So NOW WHAT?

Ok... So here is my debate so please help me decide:

How long do I leave momma with them? I will for sure leave momma with the new 7 chicks for the first few but how long?

Pros

Momma is good at keeping babies warm
Momma nurtures, protects, and teaches


Cons

Momma makes much more mess in the small coop area
Momma uses up food and water more quickly
Momma does not generally produce eggs while she is "mothering"

Until she "weans" them.


It baffles me that people would take chicks from a good mama.
