My BR hen, I'm confused!

I'm trying to figure out what got my BR hen. She's still alive, eating and drinking....but slow and lethoargic! All her taill and thigh feathers are missing, and she has a puncher wound on her thigh, and very bruised! I cleaned her up and put on anitbotic ointment.....is that okay? Is there anything I should be doing? I have never had a predator problem before and never had any losses. The one thing I could possibly think that would try to get her is a feral cat, but why didn't the predator kill her, not just injure her? I've spent the day trying to make the coop as predator proof as possible.

It sounds like a dog attack to me. Did this happen during the day or at night? Most predators would eat at least part of the chicken. Dogs just attack for sport.

I didn't noticed it until this morning when we let them out to free range. So if it was a dog, I wonder why it didn't kill her... My nieghbors do have a dog...but he is usually in a fenced yard, the only time i've seen it out is when they are walking him. Maybe that's what happened and he got stopped before he could kill her, If so I think my nieghbor should have told me.
