My almost 3 week old bo love me. At least that is what I think
I know people say that chickens don't know, and that they are not very smart. My three little ones are so cute, and really seem to want to be by me. Every time I go into the bathroom with the brooder they are trying to get out and close to me. When I put my hand down into the brooder they take turns ducking under my still hand almost like a cat getting petted. I have been cheating a bit by offering treats. Here I thought my 26 banties were going to be the sweet ones. Boy was I wrong. They just run around chirping and huddle in the corner every time I get near. There is one seabright that tries to protect the flock by running out and pecking me. It is too cute. My coop should be done in a few days, and I will be so happy to get my babies out there. Then I will be able to sit in the coop with them. Anyways, I was just so happy after I went in to check on them for the night I had to tell someone who would understand.
Here is another picture of all of them in their holding cell while I clean their brooder.
A question I do have is about one of my cochins. He was a little weak at first, and had pasty butt. I have made sure he was eating and gave him some extra attention. He seems to be doing much better now, but he still looks like a few day old chick. He is almost two weeks old. I will post a picture of him. Does anyone know why this happens? He is so much smaller than any of his brothers and sisters.
