Hello guys I know this isn’t the right place for this question but I hope someone will be able to help me out. So I have a male Persian cat who is almost a year old and he has been acting strangely first he tried to mount my sister and tried to bite her neck and started meowing loudly at her then yesterday he did this weird thing when he kinda sprayed something from his butt on our trees and he also goes around the house meowing I just hope it’s nothing serious thanks to anyone who replies

From his actions, he has become fully sexually mature and it sounds like he is not neutered.

If you have neutered him already, occasionally a neutered male will still practice these behaviors, but almost always it is an un-neutered male.

The answer is a trip to the vet. He needs to be neutered.

If you are keeping him for breeding, then you need to take some precautions and deal with a mature male cat responsibly. You are no longer a pet owner but an owner of a breeding animal.

My thoughts.

I finally found a thread on which I can be of some help, whoop! :yesss:
So I definitely agree with Lady on this, sounds exactly like a cat in heat. The mounting and biting is how cats mate he's not sick, just got the hots for your sister I guess, lol. The spraying on the trees is him marking the area as his with his urine and meowing is him calling for a female. These are all normal things in intact cats, he's perfectly fine, just looking to mate. unless he's sterilized already then it might warrant a vet visit. Would definitely recommend some snipping if he's intact though as you could end up with unwanted kittens or he could cause some property damage through spraying(might want to watch him for spraying inside, cat spray, especially male, is not a pleasant scent and rather difficult to completely get out.).

Thanks I just wanted to make sure that he didn’t have rabies or anything lol

First male cats do not come into “heat”. Female cats come into heat. Cats reach sexually maturity anywhere from 6-12 months old. Male cats are no different from male humans and once mature are always going to be looking for a hunny. Female cats are more likely to be in heat in the warmer months so that the kittens don’t die in the cold winter. But the can and will come into heat in the winter. They are not like deer and other wild animals that only come into heat at certain times of the year.

Yeah that's true:goodpost:, I suppose horny would have been a better word, but I wanted to keep it PG

Speaking of rabies, is the little guy vaccinated? Definitely recommend that, but maybe just because we almost religiously alter and vaccinate our cats and dogs. If it was rabies he would likely have motor issues(trouble walking), laying down a lot, maybe not eating and drinking. Maybe the classic drooling and aggression later but it's not usually as bad as the movies show. But that's only what I saw in the vet waiting room and in a few documentaries. I'm glad to see that you are concerned for your cats wellbeing, it's sweet of you:)
