My chick died

My little cochin chick died this evening.

He has been fine.....eating, drinking, running around with the others.

This evening I noticed one was laying on him so I tapped the glass and they all jumped up.
He didn't have his eyes open so I took him out, dipped his beak in water, his little eyes popped open and he went to chirping. I put him down and he ran back to the other side and layed down.
An hour later I went to check on him, and he was laying under a BR already dead.

There have been no obvious signs of anything being wrong.
All 7 have been running around peeping, eating, and drinking normally.
Is it possible he was suffocated?

That happened to me with my chick. I had 11 hatch and they were all playing and running and eating and everything. Then I went shopping and when I came home, there was the chick on its side stiff as a board.

I was super sad and my daughter and son saw it.

Sometimes there are just no anwsers for stuff that happens like that. Its just nature shall we say.
I really am sorry for your loss....but now you have other babies to love!
