I just heard one of the chicks crying and it's my light Brahma chick. She's a weekish old. I found her laying on the heating pad, her eyes won't open. She has control of her legs but she can't stand and cries when I pick her up. She's on my lap breathing heavily. Any ideas what I can do to save her or what it could be? Please hurry!

I would treat with elocrolyte and sugar water right away. If she is dehydrated that will help and if she's been injured that will help. If she is sick it might not but try that and see of she perks up at all

Thanks for the replies, guys. She just passed 😕🤔 I was really looking forward to the Brahma. Now to figure figure out what happened... She had a heated under her. She can get off of it and on it. I found her flattened against it. She had fresh water from day one and food. She had 4 other chicks and a duckling in there with her... But they all got along fine. Any ideas? Her neck wasn't broke... In very lost.

It’s common for them to get too cold using a heating pad, it’s hard for them to absorb enough heat from it. In the future it would be best to change to a heat lamp or an elevated heating plate for them to go under, and watch your other chicks and the duckling carefully. Temperature changes can kill them very quickly.
