This might be a little more than the average byc fan might want to tackle but I wanted one close to what we had on the farm when I grew up (about 40 years ago, eek! telling my age!) I only spent about $150 on some 2x4s and a few sheets of plywood for the floors and roof and of course the chicken wire. Everything else was on hand, I cut cedar posts out of the woods for framing and had a load of old fence boards for the siding. Even had an old screen door lying around. Right now I only have an assortment of hens and a silkie rooster but I've got half dozen young mutts moving in soon. I had a lot of fun building it and it's built to stay!

I cut doors in the back of the nesting box so I wouldn't have to go inside

Disturbing their beauty sleep

I like the coops that are large and off the ground, And im glad people still use this type of coop.
