We started hatching about 7 pm last night - day 20 - and have about 6 now. It's hard to see through those little windows. They seem to be all the whites that are hatching, but would like some browns. One has a bit of black on the feathers so it's probably a rooster. Can't get my husband to leave it alone. We hade 40 eggs so it was getting crowded so he took the shells out to give them more room. Still have a couple of whites that are pipping. He's anxious to get them out of the bator.
We kept our temp around 100 the entire time. Kept the humidity around 50 - 60 until lockdown and then raised it to 80 - 90. Using a dollar store humidity guage. Will use a wet bulb one next time.
Our 3 year old grandson saw the first one come out of the shell so that was really neat. He's pretty excited. Had trouble getting him to sleep last night as he kept wanting to say goodnight to no. 1.
We're from just outside Calgary, AB
