"my chicken farm" feel free to stop by ! Central North Carolina

Honestly I have no idea what I am doing, but I have started talking to a local co-op of farmers who sell local food as well, and may become an egg provider, I just enjoy the idea of eating healthy, having pets at the same time, and getting in touch with nature.

I am also a big supporter of spreading information and teaching people how to become independent with their food, I am gonna try to setup a free chicken consulting service in my area to introduce more people to the chicken concept, the healthy organic food concept, let them see the chickens in person etc. And I will design and build coops for those who want do it for themselves (at a bit above cost, for labor, but not much, its something I believe in, not a profit thing) and maybe I can get more people in this area into a back yard chicken idea:)

my grandfather has all the tools I could need to build coops, we've built 3 amazing ones so far, and its fun work.

Great goals - I think people are becoming increasingly receptive to local food and beginning to care about how and where it is grown. Of course, I'm still an oddity to my friends

- but I sort of like it that way. Nothing wrong with being the "crazy chicken lady".

Good luck, can't wait to see your place!

A homemade prototype for a larger chickenfeeder we came up with. It's ugly, since it IS a prototype, but it keeps the chickens from pooping in the food completely. And the pvc pipe can be twisted to make it lower/higher for babies
