Update: it's not cancer and it's not an abscess. I don't even think this thing has an official name. The biopsy says it contains some necrotic tissue, fatty tissue, and a little bit of connective tissue. It may sound concerning (especially the necrotic part), but the vets aren't really worried.
However, they (and I) are also not sure whether it'd be ok to remove it, or how to do it. I told them that I'd go ahead with this only if it's not very traumatic for her - e.g., if they find a way to remove it without cutting her open, if she will not be in huge pain after the procedure, etc.
But in the middle of this, Callia's sister died and I don't feel like putting her through this stress right now. I think the visit to the avian surgeon can be postponed.
