My chicken is bleeding and loosing feathers around her head

The feathers almost look like pin feathers I think but she is also rubbing her head on things please help I am really new to this.

She's bleeding? From the feathers or is she injured, need way more information. How old she is would be a great start and of course pictures would be awesome.

I got them as babies in April so they are less than a year old, and no there isn't active bleeding that I can see currently. pics to follow and thanks for all your help!

It looks as if she had some new feathers growing in, and damaged them. Pinfeathers are extremely sensitive, is she showing any other signs of sickness or illness?

Oh ok! It looks like she's having a little mini molt and is growing new feathers, nothing terrible and the head rubbing is because growing feathers is itchy business.

Another word for pen feathers is blood feathers. Pen feathers are directly plumed into a chickens' blood stream because blood and a lot of it is required to feed the growing plumage.
