I don't know what to do about our chicken... about a month ago our neighbors dog attacked and killed our other chicken and Stubborn was pretty stressed, she kept looking around for Chip and she was quiet and subdued. That changed and she started to act like herself again up until about a week ago. Stubborn started losing feathers and stopped laying eggs, so I thought she was molting, but she continued to lose huge amounts of feathers and now she has stopped eating and she acts weird.
She is not wanting to come out of her cage, she seems to be afraid of being on the ground area of the cage and has been staying on her perch or in the laying boxes all day long and looking around at the ground in a strange way.
I have looked for evidence of other little animals bothering her but I cannot find anything wrong.
Stubborn looks skinny and sickly, I thought maybe she is lonely and I was considering giving her to my grandma who has several other chickens, but she seems to fragile to consider this option.
Anyone have any ideas? We are worried and do not know what to do!
