I have had a small flock of pekin bantams for several years now and one of my grey hens decided to go broody, seriously broody. Despite collecting eggs every morning and evening and taking her off of the nest each time we collect them she still returns after we leave the coop and has been doing this for just over a month. I have 2 large hens in with my bantams and they've taken to just sitting on top of her when they want to lay (despite the 4 other empty nestboxes). The past 2 days I've been shutting her out of the coop completely as I noticed her face turning yellow but even after 2/3 days of being shut out she still hasn't got her colour back...... she is eating, acting and looking perfectly fine apart from the yellow. Should I be worried or am I overreacting?

Can you get pictures? Usually yellowing of the skin is a sign of jaundice, which is caused by liver problems, or failure.

It would be good to see a picture of the yellow skin. She needs to be placed in a wired dog crate with food and water, and no bedding. It may take 5 or more days to stop her from being broody. When they can have a roost, that seems to get them to over being broody faster. Mine are kept in a large pen on the ground with a roost.

I have a photo but it doesn't show the colouring very well as she just looks pale in the photo rather than the yellow she is on daylight. I can send it anyway if it'll help.
1. Healthy hen 2. Yellow hen

Can you check her for mites and lice? Since she is not laying due to being broody, that could be why her color is pale. But liver problems could make her yellow. What do her droppings look like?
No sign of lice but I havent seen any abnormal droppings on the coop floor...
