Hello fellow feather and egg enthusiasts,

Last spring I was innocently browsing Facebook and came across an ad for someone renting out 3 hens and a portable coop for the summer and was like wow that’s genius. Sign me up.
Nope they sold out of all the chickas in 2.5 seconds so no rented chickens for me.

After a serious discussion with myself I went to a house in the countryside and bought myself 3 baby Easter egger/silkie/whatever mix chicks

Armed with my excessive knowledge of experiencing the joy of butchering 150 chickens every year for meat as a kid I was prepped to be the best chicken mom ever.
Turns out they are the best and I love them so then I got a couple more purebred silkie eggs the next spring and why not give me some duck eggs too. And then I discovered button quail and was like oh, this is excellent. But I can’t find any so I guess I’ll order 50 coturnix quail eggs online instead.

And here I am with 5 hens, a rooster, 3 Rouen ducks, and like 18 quail ( I found a bunch of them homes as babies cause it was a bit insane)

Now I also have 3 cats, 3 kids and a pet man.
I work a day job providing dental care in long term care homes and retirement communities and I aim to eventually find me some button quail eggs here in southern Ontario so I can live my best life.

I found this invaluable website via the internet and my frantic googling of every possible question. It has saved my life and sanity a million times over.

🥳
