My chicken screamed at me?

Without exception all of mine get fussy -- to say the least -- when they're broody. And, they pancake like crazy -- resembling road kill when I'm trying to lift them off a nest. Twice this summer my frizzle has sneaked into the Easter Eggers' coop and tried to hatch one of the fake eggs. As soon as I step into the coop, she begins her hysterics.

I'm smiling, just imagining the look of utter disappointment on your hen's face. Good thing food cheers up all chickens!
Oh that sounds adorable!! This is my little girls first time being broody so she’ll probably get meaner with age but I’ll feel bad if I take any eggs away from her :’( I’m just hoping my roosters done his job so she can hatch a few and feel accomplished.

I don't pet my chickens when they're roosting for the night. It seems to upset them, since they're already trying to get settled for the night. I haven't had any of them scream at me like you described, but it wouldn't shock me.

Do they? It’s always light out when I put them away so I’ve never thought of it :)
