My chicken spit/threw up?!

I was trying to deal with my sick pigeon when I look over at my chickens cage and there is a lot of think, clear liquid coming out of her beak.

It looked like saliva, but there was quite a bit of it. Is this normal? I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions?

I noticed my young rooster doing this the other day. It was very strange! He acted like nothing happened.

I have no facts, but perhaps your chicken ate too much and drank too much and was just "backing up" the excess. That's what I thought about my rooster.

Hope someone with experience posts!

they sometimes do that as a defense it is usually just water mixed with what they had to eat

I had a chick that was swollen and did that. She died, never knew what it was for sure

thats sad did any others have that symptom what were you feeding them at the time

i've seen a chick puke but it was clear mucous. it's perfectly healthy.

I had a silver sebrite hen that threw up a clear liquid and then died!

a few days later one of my silkies pullet became sick for about a week and right before she died she threw up a clear liquid.

I can't find any diseases of chickens to explain this, hopefully someone else knows something.

My chickens do that from time to time, but don't seem to have any ill affects from it. I think it comes from over-eating/drinking with my hens.
