My chicken sure does a better job than me!!!!

I am soooo happy that my little 1 yr old Wendy the Wyandotte, who may not be a show girl, sure is a great mom ...so far. She went broody 24 days ago and I finally decided to put some Buff Orpington eggs (from Jody) under her. Well 21 days later and she's already got 6 of the 8 hatched out and fluffy. Here are 2 of the BOs and below is one that I added of hers (I think). It's a cross between the GLW and a BO roo.

Oh and I forgot to mention that I do such a lousy job at hatching little chicks that Wendy's record is already better than mine ... and she's only a year old!

Go figure

Talk about Wendy being a great mom, well I've got one for ya....
While the chicks were hatching she took all of the egg shells and put them into one another. And then moved them out.

Late this morning she move herself out of the soiled nesting box, giving up on the two remaining eggs. I reached into the nesting box and cleaned up the area and put in fresh water and food. within minutes she brought them all back in and settled down again. She's amazing. I can't believe I tried to hatch out any chicks on my own when I've got Wendy...and she cleans too!

Anyone experience this?
