My Chickens’ First Snow

As you can see, it finally snowed and my chickens were less than pleased. Even my ducks didn’t seem too happy at first! Do you have any videos or pictures of when your chickens first encountered snow?

This was my flock's exact reaction. I loved that confused crow though! Mine headed straight under the coop and were still there when I left for work. "What the cluck is this cold nonsense?"

Oh yeah, they were all still under the coop. The only ones that actually went into the snow were the ducks, but it took them some convincing. I sprinkled straw on the ground so the chickens would have an easy way back to the ramp but they just kicked it away when they started scratching in it.

Love the way they were jumping off the sides of the ramp onto the bare ground!

Another reason to build generous roof overhangs on our coops.
