I feed my birds scraps like everyone else. From leftover veggies to fruits to even meat broths if i don’t eat it the chickens do. I do make sure everything i do is safe for them. one thing i do is sprinkle in garlic, chia seeds flax seeds even bee pollen i get from packets including one more thing... Hemp seeds! No I’m not trying to make my chickens more mellow but it actually raises the yolks healthy fat content and omega 3! Also is very safe and natural here and there for the chickens! I don’t use it constantly but i do add it here and there and i notice they actually like it enough to try and pick it out first! I have had great experiences with it and i wanted to know if anyone else used this or anything else that is different? I do believe what you feed and how much you try for your birds really shows by your product and to me it’s one thing that helps me stand out when selling eggs. Thank you so much for reading!

Greetings Scott214,

Yes, I use the unshelled hemp seed for my chickens, I also use hemp protein powder as a base for herbal remedies, when they are sick.

Hemp is such a beneficial health product for chickens, and people too!

In fact I just made some Hen Pen tamales for my chickens yesterday. I added unshelled hemp seed, for protein, along with diced black grapes, diced apple, dried cranberries, and mixed vegies and a bit of garlic powder. The chickens loved them, and I was able to freeze the rest for later use.

I've been using hemp seed and hemp protein powder for years, even for chicks. Also, coconut oil.

Yup, keep them healthy with strong immune systems. And, even if they do get sick, they'll heal faster, with better than average survivability, too.

:goodpost:

God Bless.

I’m glad to hear someone else doing it too because it really does make a difference in my opinion. Like you said even some more Benifits that i missed out on saying. It’s such an underused tool for livestock in my opinion. I hope maybe this thread gets a little popular for more people to try it out and see if they can notice a difference. And if anyone else has more info on it then throw it out there by all means! :highfive:
