I bought these 12 at 3 weeks old. They are now about 6 months old. Eight are Production Red's and four are Dominecker type. When I enter the pen or house they are fine. I have learned to move really slowly and carefully around them. Then for no reason at all, all hell breaks loose and they scatter and fly into walls and wire fencing like a bunch of wild quail! They are the wildest birds I have ever raised, and I've raised a few.
There must be something going on genetically with the hatcheries these days. Has anyone had this same crazy experience. Domestic chickens should not act like this.

How often do they see you in there pen?
I would recomend that your visits to the coop are something good for your girls. Take something they like as a treet. A heal of bread, a cut up apple, some shredded carrot. Soon they will realize good things happen when you visit and loose their fear of you.
This works for all my chickens Except one hen i call Crazy bird, nothing i do settles her down, its just who she is i guess.
Good luck with your chickens!

I'm keeping them for egg production for my family. Don't really have time to sit with them, but thanks for your answer!

No problem. Sitting with them even for a few minutes a day and/or bringing them treats during it will get them more used to you, if you have any spare time.
