Hello!

We recently built a house that is sitting on an insulated concrete form basement. That means (because I didn't know what that was until my husband explained it to me) that we poured the basement cement into interlocking styrofoam forms. Anyway, we haven't sealed up the part of the basement that is about 4' above ground. Our wonderful chickens are pecking at it and EATING the styrofoam. We've been chasing them off but there has got to be a better solution!

I have just laid metal siding around the base of the house with rocks on it. Winds can get pretty hefty up here, so that is not a great solution. Can anyone suggest something better? Thanks for your input!

I should think that the styrofoam forms were MEANT to be covered up, as styrofoam doesn't last tremendously well when exposed to weather and sunlight and all that. So probably the best solution would be to find out what the manufacturer's original idea was, in terms of covering the styrofoam, and then do THAT.

Goo dluck, have fun,

Pat
