My chickens are funny!!!

Sorry if this is not the right topic. But I have been letting my 20 chickens free roam for a few days and we let them out yesterday and I let them out and I would say about 6 hours later I came out to check on them and five of them were missing. My EE rooster, 3 BR, 1 silver laced polish rooster and 1 Bantam cochin frizzle. I got pretty worried and but we live right next to a horse farm and one of our neighbors works they and has a house a couple houses over and I asked him if has seen my 5 chickens and he says yes and he said that they are in a storage unit they have at the farm that has hay in it. So he allowed me to go over to the farm and get them. So I went over and they were eating a little bit of the hay!!! Isn't that funny?!!!

I wish we could get one but it is expensive right now and my parents can't really spend a dime. But my parents are luckily getting more buisness for their buisness. Yay!!!

Is the hay bad for them to eat?

No hay is just fine for them. Mine eat hay all the time since we have horses also. If I run out of lay I rake up the loose hay and feed that to them. They love it. In the past I have had them lay between bales of hay.
