Hi, I have 8 chickens they are all about 2 year old, I just got them 2 weeks ago fully grown. Only about 2 chickens have been laying every day nd the others I don't think so. I only get 1 or 2 eggs a day. Is this normal? I give them organic lay pellets, watermelon and cabbage. I'm new at having chickens. Has anybody been through this?

Are you sure they are 2 years old, many people don't tell the truth about the hens they sell, worms and parasites will reduce egg laying
This is very true..I see it all the time.
I would collects come fresh poop asap and take it to the vet to have it tested for worms.

yes the person who sold them to you could have easily lied to you about their age. Next time I recommend you raise them from chicks so you can get as many eggs from them. When you buy them at two years old they will only decrease in egg production from there on out they reach their peak at two years.

It's also late summer and getting toward the time where they are starting to molt and egg production slows down for the winter. It's possible they may not lay again until late winter or early spring.
