We bought a new home late May, and the house conveyed with many things.. furniture, appliances, and three hens. Lol

I don't know the breed, or much about them. They sometimes lay eggs, but not as frequently for us as the old owner said they did for her.

The guy at TSC said that the stress of change could be affecting them. I'd love to get them back to laying regularly.

They roam the neighborhood during the day, and get locked up for safety at night.

My kids love them, but they aren't very friendly.

Welcome to BYC! how old are the hens? an 2+ year old hen will really drop off in her laying
No idea on their age. Former owner did say that people are always surprised that they still laid so we'll, and she attributed it to the organic feed. I bought organic when her supply ran out.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I agree with the assessment that your hens are just getting up there in age. If you want more of an egg supply, consider getting a few sexed chicks or started pullets to raise.
