My chickens hate to be held

Can you help me with chickens? If so then how do you get your chickens to like you? I mean I rescued most of my chickens so how do I get them to like me?
I need quick advice because I need to be able to catch my roo to get a string of of his feet he's been tripping on it!

They usually don't like being held. They are prey animals who find it scary to be caught. Just get him early in the morning while he's roosting and snip it off.

sorry this is happening...i would suggest giving it some time and space to get used to you. As for the string, do your chickens go inside the coop when they sleep? Then you could reach inside and take out the rooster.

They can't see what you are at night. That's how I got my rooster to cull.
