Hi I used to have 2 barred rocks and a buff now my 2 barred rocks died due to overheating and it's really putting my down. I just recently got into chickens and I'm starting to feel like I'm just not deserving to have them. I am 18 and I still live in my parents house (because I'm going to college) and my mom thinks that's I'm not responsible enough to handle them even though it was an accident they died and I cared about them a lot.
Thanks for any comments

Don't be to hard on yourself accidents do happen, just unfortunate they sometimes result in deaths. Here are some suggestions: For heat issues always keep a pail of COOL(NOT COLD) water in yard,if any chickens show signs of heat stroke/stress(panting heavily, wings spread, lethargic, non responsive)submerge in pail of cool water up to neck, this will immediately drop body temp and possibly save lives. Chickens due not cope with hot weather at all, they do not have any sweat glands, they rely on their respiratory system to cool themselves down, that is why they pant, spread wings, etc. Chickens body temp is around 103-107 degrees Fahrenheit,if their body temp reaches anywhere from 113 degrees and up,they are in danger. You can put frozen water bottles/milk jugs in coops/nesting boxes, hens will lay against them if hot, fans, frozen watermelon/other fruit, hose coop down during day to cool everything off, small childs pool(just enough water to get feet wet,do not want to drown them). These are just some ideas on how to help your girls deal with the heat.

Your remaining girl is going to be lonely, chickens are very social creatures. You can bring her into house(put her into a large dog crate)so she will not be lonely until you get her a friend. When looking for another chicken make sure you know the signs of a healthy hen as opposed to one that may be ill. Ideally all new chickens should be quarantined for several weeks, just in case they are carrying a disease that could effect your remaining girl. This might be difficult as your girl is by herself and chickens do suffer from depression and grief. She may become depressed over her friends dying, just make sure she is eating/drinking,give her special treats, make sure you spend time with her. I would also like to recommend that you purchase yourself a book on chicken keeping, one that covers all the bases(feed, illness, medications, etc.)you will find this invaluable in your pursuit for healthy/happy girls. Very sorry for your loss, but now you know the dangers, knowledge is power. Look after your remaining girl, and find her some friends.
